M-TEC MOTOR SPORTS ACTIVITY PLAN IN 2012

M-TEC Co., Ltd. Shin Nagaosa, president (Hereinafter called M-TEC) announced an outline of M-TEC Motorsport activities for 2012 as follows.

⟨MOTOR SPORTS ACTIVITY PLAN
In 2012 M-TEC will, through various racing activities, continue to meet the expectations of our customers and all persons concerned, from novice to professional categories spread widely to reinforce the infrastructure and activity of motor sports.


Overseas category

⟨The FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC)
M-TEC will produce and maintain an in-line four cylinder 1.6 L direct injection turbo engine. The car will be the new (EU model) Civic 5-door developed by Honda Motor Co., Ltd. The expected first participation will be at the Japanese round of the 2012 WTCC season at SUZUKA CIRCUIT in October.

⟨The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy Race (The Isle of Man TT)
M-TEC will tackle The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy Race held on the Isle of the Man, in the zero emission TT Zero class with the original electric motorcycle. "TT-Zero" class regulates the entrants to drive motorcycles with zero-emission engine which emit no CO2, and the race is run in a time-trial format approximately 60km driving round the isle. M-TEC is eager to educate the engineers of the next generation for the future technology through this 60km time

Other than the activities mentioned above, M-TEC will continue to provide Honda drivers with highly tuned engines, performance accessories and parts, and technical services at renowned touring car races like the representative touring car race, the Grande Prémio de Macau in Asia.
Naturally the technique and knowledge gained through such activities are all fed back into the design and development of MUGEN parts and accessories for the benefit of MUGEN customers around the world.

Under the name of "Honda GT Project" M-TEC will work with Honda R&D Co Ltd., Automobile R&D center and DOME CO LTD., to supply five teams with V8 3.4 NA engines, "HR10E" for their five GT cars, and provide support services at the racing circuits. M-TEC will also support and do machine maintenance for TEAM KUNIMITSU (#100).

♦ GT300 Class
M-TEC will cooperate with Honda Motor Co., Ltd to participate in GT300 as "TEAM /MUGEN", with a CR-Z equipped with a racing hybrid system. TEAM /MUGEN will join the competition for the first time at the 4th round of the series to be held at SPORTSLAND SUGO. Hideki Muto, will use his prior experience competing in the GT500 class as the nominated GT300 development driver.

⟨Japanese Championship Formula Nippon
Continuing from last year, M-TEC has appointed Naoki Yamamoto as the driver of "TEAM /MUGEN. " Two years have passed since the first participation. TEAM /MUGEN in this third year will win both the driver's champion and the team championship.
M-TEC will provide the V8 3.4 NA engine,"HR10E" for six race cars and four teams and will also provide support services at racing events through Japan Race Promotion Inc..

⟨MUGEN POWER Cup One Make Race
M-TEC will organize the "MUGEN POWER Cup" as a successor to the one make, "Honda Exciting Cup One Make Race ~ CIVIC series ~" (held from 1981 to 2011 for about thirty one years), so that entrants who have taken part in the previous races may continue to enjoy one make racing.
Regulations and participating vehicle, Civic Type R (FD2) remain the same as Honda Exciting Cup One Make Race ~ CIVIC series ~*. Therefore previous entrants can continue to join the event without incurring additional cost.
MUGEN not only operates the race but provides the entrants with parts manufactured based on the regulations and technical support at circuits.

⟨Honda Sports & Eco Program
With the support of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. M-TEC will cooperate with MOBILITYLAND CORP. to organize "Honda Sports & Eco Program." This program is a fun driving program aimed at achieving a good balance between eco and sports driving. In the program all the participants can drive a new generation hybrid sports car, Honda CR-Z, with the maximum eco-function to experience the pleasure of controlling the car, improving their driving skills, and competing with other participants at ease.
A total of 60 programs will be held in 2012 at SUZUKA CIRCUIT and TWIN RING MOTEGI.
