Race: 2012-05-13 sun / Fine / Attendance 9,000 (Announcement from the organizer)

At the end of this second round of the Championship, held at Twin Ring Motegi, TEAM MUGEN and driver, Naoki Yamamoto, completed the event with a second consecutive 7th place and gained 2 points, but the team will be looking to improve upon this and move forward in the order at future races.
The qualifying for this particular race was in single-car format where each car runs on its own on the circuit, so the number 16 TEAM MUGEN car was set up specifically for this. The balance of the car was good, but even so, the team were not able to make full use of it and so finished the session qualifying in a slightly disappointing 7th place.
In the race despite a relatively slow lap pace in race trim, which remains one of the issues the team have been trying to overcome since the opening race, a good start meant that Yamamoto was able to make an overtaking move to advance to 6th position. However, in spite of an excellent job by the pit crews and the driver, he was later re-passed and finished the race in the same 7th place as his starting position.
