It seems that no matter what they do, this year nothing turns out well for TEAM MUGEN and their driver, and so far this season it has been a continuous struggle. In this race it was unexpected mechanical problems that cost the team a potential chance to score some points. With no option other than to make radical changes, TEAM MUGEN and the driver, Yamamoto took a fresh look at every aspect in particular pit-in and pit-out procedures. With only one car on track the data available is naturally limited and so they spent most of their time on assessing and refining that procedure. Progress was made and by the final race Yamamoto was able to set a lap time comparable with the fastest laps of other teams.

From next race at SPORTSLAND SUGO, former F1 and current Indy car driver, Takuma Sato will join as a driver of TEAM MUGEN. With this experience on board and a second car to provide feedback and data TEAM MUGEN expect to make progress and regain lost ground for the remaining races.
