Announcement of "Honda CR-Z MUGEN RR Concept Pre Production MODEL"
MUGEN (M-TEC Co., Ltd. Shin Nagaosa, president) (Hereinafter called MUGEN) unveiled "Honda CR-Z MUGEN RR Concept Pre Production MODEL" designed based on Honda CR-Z RR Concept.
Aiming at mass production, design, materials, and specifications of "Honda CR-Z MUGEN RR Concept" were re-examined. "Honda CR-Z MUGEN RR Concept" was introduced at Honda booth of the GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED in Goodwood, England.
At Tsukuba circuit course 2000, it recorded 1:08:612, which is faster than the normal CR-Z by 5.6 seconds.
This Pre-production MODEL will be displayed at MUGEN booth at "TOKYO AUTO SALON 2012 with NAPAC" in Makuhari Messe from January 13th to 15th.
♦ Honda CR-Z MUGEN RR Concept Pre Production MODEL
It is the pre-production model whose driving performance has been improved dramatically
Engine dynamo and actual driving test were carried out repeatedly to improve drivability in all ranges including practical range along with peak power increase owing to Super Charger.
An intercooler, a special air box and exhaust system come with the engine for installation of the Super Charger. ECU was also specially mapped. Along with output increase, performance improvement of other parts is consequently required. φ320 reversed bench configuration brake rotors, mono-block reverse 4 piston calipers, and height adjustable suspensions are also prepared to accommodate such an increased power and torque of 179ps/20.9kgf-m engine + IMA and transfer them to tires to the maximum.
Furthermore, specially designed full bucket seat and carbon shift knob were developed for securing driver's comfort driving environment. At Tsukuba circuit course 2000, it recorded 1:08:612, which is faster than the normal CR-Z by 5.6 seconds.
