マン島でいよいよ走行スタート

マン島TTレースの本部、グランドスタンドやパドックがあるダグラス市から北に30キロほどの場所に位置する元空軍飛行場跡地「ジャービィ・エアフィールド」を使用し、マン島1回目のプライベートテストを行いました。

天候が変わりやすいマン島ですが、テスト中は晴天に恵まれ無事初走行を終えることができました。時折冷たい風が吹き付ける中、今回が神電初ライドとなったマイケル・ルター選手と日本で既にテスト走行を行ったリー・ジョンストン選手はマン島初となるテスト走行のメニューを順調に消化しました。ルター選手は初めてのマシンに慣れることを目的とした慣熟走行をメインに、ジョンストン選手はレースで使用するタイヤ選定作業も行いました。

両者ともにマシンの仕上がりに満足し、1日目のメニューを順調に終了。明日、明後日も引き続きジャービィ・エアフィールドで事前テストを行う予定です。

リー・ジョンストン選手のコメント
マシンは順調にセットアップできていて特に手を入れる必要はない。今日は本番に向けてタイヤ選定作業を進めたので、明日以降は回生ブレーキのフィーリングなどの細かい部分のアジャストを行いたいですね。

マイケル・ルター選手のコメント
初めて神電に乗りましたがとても素晴らしいフィーリングでした。見た目もいいですが、乗り味もとても良く、今日は自分の乗り方に合わせて回生ブレーキのフィーリングを調整することを行いました。まずはハッピーなテストができたと言えるでしょうね。明日、明後日も楽しみです。

Session has eventually started in the Isle of Man.
TEAM MUGEN visited Jurby Airfield originally used as a Royal Air Force training base in World War II located 30 kilometers away from Douglas city in which the Isle of Man TT head office, grandstand, and paddocks are located for the very first private test.

Weather often changes in the Isle of Man, however, TEAM MUGEN could carry out the private test in fine weather. Sometimes cold wind blew and both Michael Rutter who would try the Shinden for the very first time, and Lee Johnston who experienced it in Japan previously performed test rides smoothly. Michael Rutter spent his time mainly to be familiar with Shinden Nana. On the other hand Lee Johnston selected the tires for the race.

Both riders were satisfied with the set-ups of the machines and managed the first day schedule TEAM MUGEN continues to carry out the test rides here at Jurby Airfield tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

“Setup of my machine has been well-done and no need to adjust it. Today I selected the tires for the race. From tomorrow I would like to adjust subtle feelings of my machine including a regenerative brake.”

“I for the first time rode the Shinden. I felt so good at its feeling. Not only its appearance but riding feeling are quite good. I tried to adjust feeling of a regenerative brake corresponding to my riding position. I enjoyed test ridings today. I am looking forward to tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.”
